Strux — IFC & BIM Viewer
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 18 July 2026
Your models never leave your device. Strux opens and renders IFC files entirely on your phone. The file, its geometry, its element names and its property values are never uploaded, transmitted or seen by us or anyone else.
What stays on your device
Everything about the models you open is processed locally and stored only on your device:
- The IFC file you open, and a working copy kept in the app's private cache.
- Your list of recently opened models — their names, sizes and a small preview image.
- A cache of a model's processed geometry, so reopening it is faster.
None of this is transmitted anywhere. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling Strux removes all of it.
What we do collect
Strux uses two Google Firebase services to keep the app stable and to understand which features are used. Both collect only anonymous, aggregate information:
- Firebase Crashlytics — when the app crashes: device model and manufacturer, Android version, and the technical stack trace. A crash report also records the size, element count and triangle count of the model that was open, because those numbers are usually the whole explanation for a crash.
- Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage events: that a model was opened (its size in MB, element count, triangle count and how long it took to load), that an element was inspected (its standard IFC type, such as IfcWall, and how many property sets it had), which camera view was chosen, and whether elements were hidden or isolated.
What we never collect
- Your IFC files, or any part of their contents.
- File names, element names, property values, or GlobalIds.
- Your name, email address, or any account — Strux has no sign-in.
- Location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
Strux contains no advertising and no advertising identifiers. We do not sell or share your data with anyone, and none of the data collected is used to identify you.
How long it is kept
Crash reports are retained by Firebase for up to 90 days and then deleted automatically. Analytics data is retained according to this project's Firebase retention setting and deleted automatically when that period ends.
Children
Strux is a professional tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
Your choices
You can remove every piece of local data at any time by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings, or by uninstalling Strux. You can also review Strux's data disclosures on its Google Play listing.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
